Scarlett Johansson is an American actress and singer who rose to fame in the 2003 film Lost in Translation, in which she starred opposite Bill Murray. She started her acting career with roles in such films as Manny & Lo and The Horse Whisperer. She has opted to do several costume dramas such as The Girl with the Pearl Earring and The Prestige in addition to contemporary fare like The Nanny Diaries and In Good Company. Johansson has worked several times with writer-director Woody Allen, appearing in his films Match Point and Scoop.

On May 10, 2008 her debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head will be released.

On May 5, 2008, reports surfaced that Johansson was engaged to actor Ryan Reynolds. There was no immediate word of a wedding date, but a publicist for Johansson said the couple were “both thrilled” about their plans to marry.
